Game Preview – Kings vs Stars

Posted on December 10, 2011 by

We play the Dallas Stars tonight in the forth of our six meetings this season. We have previously won two and hope to add another 2 points tonight. Richards is still out but Mitchell is back. Moreau cleared waivers and has been offered a place with Manchester, our AHL team. He has not accepted yet. If he does not, he will be let go from the King’s organization.

The Stars only have one point more than the Kings and beat us the last time we met. Tonight Bernier will be in goal and hopefully give Quick a rest from his crappy game last time. Voynov will stay in and Martinez will sit tonight. Everyone else stays the same.

Tonight is legends night! The Kings will honor Bernie Nicholls who had 70 goals in the 1988-89 season. I barely remember the 80′s but I remember Bernie! He had such a straight shot. Boom! Right through everyone.  The Kings will wear their vintage purple and gold jerseys for the occasion. Nicholls will sign jerseys during the game at Staples.

Tonight is also LAFD fund raising. The firefighters will be collecting toys so make sure if you go to the game tonight you bring some type of game or doll to give. Also, they will be raising money for equipment and you can buy pucks, tshirts (I have one!) and bid I believe on the helmets. Good luck to them!
