Game Preview – Kings vs Oilers

We are in Edmonton again and hopefully we will continue to dominate like we did against Calgary. When Lombardi apologized to the Oilers organization I thought, oh oh, here comes a trade. Possibly Hemsky. Well, I don’t know about you but we already have our “Hemsky” with Gagne. Isn’t trading for a consistently hurt player getting old to you? I would never give us one of our D men for Hemsky. The Oilers need defense and our defense is so great right now. If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it!
Kopi is feeling fine and after that hit the other night I was convinced he would have at least a broken nose or hurt shoulder. But Anze is a beast! Back up the next game and scores a goal. Richards also added a goal against Calgary to break his slump of no goals in nine games. Now hopefully we can get him back to a goal a game.
The Oilers are 13th in the West to our 7th place in the standings. The Kings have 52 pts and Edmonton has 36. The Oilers came out strong the beginning of the season but have petered out along the way losing to the Sucks 5-0 their last game. Vegas has the Kings winning 5-2 on the sports betting. Go gambling!
A Few Notes:
  • Bernier in net tonight to give Quick a much needed rest
  • Kings are now 7-1-4 under Sutter
  • Richards and Kopitar are tied for the team high in goals
  • Greene has a career high in goals per season with 3
  • Kopitar has 399 NHL pts – he could get # 400 tonight
