Game Preview – Kings vs Hurricanes

I love this picture. Drewiski should play tonight. We need something to shake us up a bit after our game last night. Seriously, I didn’t think we played horrible, just felt like we didn’t play. At all.

Tonight we play against the Carolina Hurricanes for the first time since October 2010. This is our first and only meeting this season. The Caines are dead last in the Eastern Conference to our 7th place in the West. But from what we know about the Kings, it doesn’t matter. We can come out and beat the crap out of Washington and lose miserably to Columbus. So we really need our boys to be mad about last night and gain 2 much needed points to keep us in playoff position.

The Hurricanes will play Ward in net tonight after he is on a roll with a huge win against the Boston Bruins. Ward made 47 saves and shut out the former Cup Champs 3-0. Carolina hopes they will bring out the same kind of intensity against all the teams they face from here on out.  We hope the Kings will bring the same. But you also have to remember, the Kings have won the last three meeting against the Caines. We may be the underdog on this game but hopefully that will change tonight.

 

 

 

 

A few Notes:

  • Brandon Sutter, the Alternate Captain for the Caines is Darryl Sutter’s nephew – brother and Calgary Coach Brent Sutter’s son.
  • King’s have allowed only 10 goals in 8 road games.
  • Richards is goalless in the last 7 games
  • Kopitar has one goal in the last 5 games
  • Kings are 2-2-4 in back to back games
Just not sure about the lineup tonight as the Kings are not having an on ice practice this morning. They will have an afternoon meeting and Sutter will decide then. He will obviously make a few changes, but we won’t know what they are until later. I’ll update when I find out. For now, I’ll post the same as yesterday.
