I know you’ve heard all the buzz about Jeff Carter and Jack Johnson in regards to tonight’s game. Will Jeff C get boo’d? I’d give that a 100% yes. Will JJ feel weird playing against his former team? I’ll also give that a 100% yes. You know what we also need to do 100%? It’s to shut up about it already. I loved JJ and hope all the best for him and now its time to move on to talk some puck.
Kings have won 2 out of the 3 times we have met this season and tonight is the 4th and final game. Steve Mason, the goalie for the Blue Jackets has been on a bit of a hot streak with only letting in 4 goals in the last 4 games. Columbus has also had a 3 game win streak that they want to continue. Last time we played the Blue Jackets was the night that Drew Doughty scored with the last few seconds and thus became the clock controversy at Staples. Our clock was found to be fine and so will the Kings tonight.
Kings also have won 3 in a row and finally found out how to score again! They have scored a total of 18 goals in their last five games. I know that the scoring woes that plagued us are over and the King’s are going to tear it up tonight. We are going to make Nash wish he lowered his going rate for us – we are going to be that good. Quick is sitting this one out and Bernier will be in goal. I’m really glad for two reasons. One, the guy gets to play and I believe he needs the experience, and two, Quick needs to rest for our back to back game tomorrow vs the Wings.
A Few Notes:
- Drewiski, Richardson and Westgarth are still healthy scratches tonight
- Kings have a 54.6% chance of making the playoffs as of noon pst (the date and time is just for you, mom –
) - The Kings have a 20-0-2 record this season when they score at least three goals.(Best stat ever!!!)
- Kopitar has recorded at least one point in four consecutive games (two goals, three assists).
- Since trading for Carter, the Kings have gone 4-1 and are averaging 3.6 goals per game.
The lineup is the same as last game except for Bernier. Let’s hope we see a bit of scoring from our top guys tonight – Kopitar, Richards and Carter!

haha! I was thinking the same thing. JJ can score a goal as long as we have one more than them at all times.
Also watch for the other games tonight. We can gain a few more % points if Phoenix and Colorado loses.

I love those stats. When you look at the overall scoring lately, the Kings seem to have got the message. Be on the attack and don’t let up. More importantly, they are passing well instead of rambling all over the ice with the puck. Btw, 54.6% at noon today has now changed to 54.7%. I have to stop going there and checking. lol
