“This is an important game tonight between the Kings and the Sharks” = understatement of the century. Ok, well not century but this season for sure. How important is this game tonight? The Kings are tied with the Sharks with 82 points and set in 9th and 10th place respectively in the Western Conference standings. The Kings are just 1 point behind Dallas and Phoenix who are tied for 1st in the Pacific and they duke it out tonight. So one of those teams will get 2 points tonight. Nothing we can do about it except hope whoever wins, wins in regulation so the other team does not get that OT point.
Perfect scenario would be if the Kings win, and either Dallas or Phoenix wins in regulation to put the Kings in 2nd place in the Pacific and 7th in the conference. I won’t accept less. Not now. We are so hot winning 4 in a row! Tonight could be # 5 and place the Kings in a coveted spot going into our last 10 games.
The Sharks have gone 3-0-1 in their previous four games including a big loss last night to the Ducks. First time this season I actually rooted for the Sucks. But whether they liked it or not, they helped us a lot. San Jose’s goalie, Niemi was pulled last night as well. This bodes well for us as they are all messed up in the head and will probably come out swinging tonight. I think if the Kings play the same game they have played lately by coming out quick, opening up more and taking the shots when available, they can beat San Jose very easily. You know there will be fighting tonight. I’m not really sure why Sutter is not playing Westgarth tonight. The only reason I can think of is he wants to keep everything the same as these last four games. I know there will be blood drawn, just hope it’s not too much of our guys!
So, yes, tonight is an important game. Probably the most important so far. I say this almost every game preview, but tonight would REALLY be a good night for the old Richards to show up! Quick is in goal and Drewiski, Richardson and Westgarth are again healthy scratches. Niemi is in net for the Sharks and hopefully he is off kilter from the pull last night just enough for us to take advantage.

Really looking forward to this one tonite. I used to watch the Duck games but, I don’t do that anymore. I’d just get so worked up and mad at them that I gave that up.
Watched tv programs instead and kept pc tuned in to NHL.com for the updates of how that game was going last nite.
There used to be and maybe still are some Duck fans who’d infiltrate LGK’s, then go back to the Duck site, led by Neil and they’d make fun of the Kings. They even put out a calender one with some of the King gal fans, making fun of them. That’s been a number of years back buy, just one more reason I’ve hated that team since their inception.
Sharks on the other hand, have never had the dislike for that many fans have. I just keep referring back to Luc’s last game there before retirement and the crowd, in unison, stood giving him a standing ovation. Can’t dislike people like that.

Hi Bev!! Actually I’m the same, I don’t have as much hate for SJ as I do for the Ducks. But I still watch the games and torture myself.
I think I tend to feel sorry for the Sharks when they choke every season. And they beat Detroit, so thats a bonus for them.
Thanks on the site. Its fun for us and we actually get a lot of people over here so thats great. We try to keep it positive as well. Sure, we grumble, but nothing too over the top. I save that stuff for other sites. lol

Now I took moment to read blog..it is a nightmare now as we knew it would be losing some of those games we could easily have won..and within our division letting them tie us in regulation and giving them that point. We knew this coulld bite us..and it has….how badly don’t know for sure yet..but we did put iurselves in this position. Boy that was rambling..sorry
