Let’s talk smack:
Q: What does a Vancouver Canucks fan do after his team has won the Stanley Cup?
A: He turns off the PlayStation 3.
We play Vancouver again in the first round same as we did two years ago. It was a pretty good series before and this looks to be another one as well. The Kings have held in there after a crazy season and made 8th place in the conference. Unfortunately that means we play first place – The Nucks. Here is the schedule for us starting with our first game on Wednesday:
Game 1 in Vancouver — Wednesday, April 11, 7:30 p.m.
Game 2 in Vancouver — Friday, April 13, 7 p.m.
Game 3 in Los Angeles — Sunday, April 15, 7:30 p.m.
Game 4 in Los Angeles — Wednesday, April 18, 7 p.m.
*Game 5 in Vancouver — Sunday, April 22, time TBD.
*Game 6 in Los Angeles — Tuesday, April 24, time TBD.
*Game 7 in Vancouver — Thursday, April 26, time TBD.
* if necessary
Q: What do you call 23 millionaires around a TV watching the Stanley Cup Finals?
A: The Vancouver Canucks.
I love Vancouver…the PLACE! Vancouver fans? Not so much. There is nothing quite like a Vancouver hockey fan. You would think they would be tolerable because they are Canadians and we Canadians are known for how nice we are to others. But for some reason, it skipped the Canuck fans. Let’s face it. They come to our house and think they own it. Its annoying along with their fan base. Entitled hipsters. What could be worse?
Q: How many Vancouver Canucks fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Lava lamps don’t burn out man!
The Kings had a 2-2-0 vs Vancouver this season. This series will be different in a few ways. One, we have Mitchell on our side this time. Two, we made a few good moves and have Richards and Carter on the team now and three, our team is freely able to play a more offensive game. I’m looking forward to this meeting. How will we match up? How will Quick play? or Luongo? It looks like Carter will be able to play but everyone is keeping tight lipped. Vancouver is keeping equally tight lipped regarding if D. Sedin will play after he has been out with a concussion. I would think both will be in the lineup Wednesday night.
So let’s talk smack and have a great series! Go Kings Go!

At home, the sailor in me comes out loud and clear! But I think I’ll save writing it down for S&S.
Two years ago we were sandwiched in our seats by Vancouver fans. Bailey really gave them a hard time so it was bearable – not looking forward to them this time after they went so far last season. Hopefully we can shut them up with a win!

Same here. I was in a PR section that might as well have been painted green. Being up 2-1 going into the 3rd had the fans tightlipped… then we gave up 3 goals. It was BRUTAL. As I’m sure it was for you too.

Can’t attend p/o’s but, I’ll sure be helping all I can from home. Back when Melrose was coaching the Kings, the Nucks had the biggest guys in the league, if I remember right. I just don’t recall the rivalry between them and the Kings back then but of course, there was no internet going on for the fans to get crappy with each other, It’s sure heated up to what we see now. I was hoping for the Blues rather than the Nucks but, we take what we get and hoping the Kings put on a great show and take it to round 2.

There was a ton of animosity at Staples two years ago. Hubby went to pee and a fight broke out in the bathroom! I hid a Nuck fan from the redcoats because he was just wasted and they would have thrown him out.
Also witnessed one of the most awesome stare downs in hockey history between two big drunk fans. It went on for minutes and we all waited, will someone throw a punch? then their friends dragged them away in the opposite directions. It was hilarious.
