*Note from Tracy: Thanks Noreen so much to put this together! I didn’t get a chance to watch and you even added a few awards that were not just on the show last night. Much Appreciated!
Yesterday I watched one of the tackiest award shows in all of television. But, I did get to see the players without their headgear on and of course I didn’t recognize any of them. Well maybe Lundqvist because you know, how can you not recognize a hunk like that. I found a new kid on the block to love by the name of Evgeni Malkin. What a sweetie. The highlight of the show for me was watching Will Arnett as Brandon Shanahan handing out penalties to everyone that he could possibly insult. Being 76 years old, I had to mute most of Nickelback’s music as I’m not a big fan of loud noises and not being able to understand a word that they sang. I am not exactly looking forward to next year’s award show but I’ll still watch it because, hey, it’s about hockey and I’m hooked. So here’s a list of the awards for anyone who was not able to watch the show and would like to know who won what.

People talk about East Coast bias and for whoever wonders what that means, Just reference the above winners and be enlightened.
Screw them! We have the cup and my captain and goalie is better than all the other captains and goalies anyway! My team is better than all the other teams – these awards are just for losers to feel better about themselves since they did NOT win the Stanley Cup like MY TEAM – THE LOS ANGELES KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some at LGK’s were making fun of Malkin and I think that was really undeserved. I agree that he’s a real sweety and I remember back when he couldn’t speak a word of English. Have to admire him for working so hard on it and being able to even speak publicly. It would have to feel uncomfortable.
That award show was just plain embarrasing. Writing was terrible. Didn’t really expect to see any Kings honored so wasn’t surprised at all. Seeing Messier give that award to Doan was an outright rediculous move on his part.
Oh well, like Tracy mentioned, We know who the real champs are and we saw the important award go to our Kings. Lord Stanley is all that matters and we all waiting a long time for it.
I’m missing hockey already.

Thank you ladies for the kind words. I just wanted to add that the announcing was terrible. I had a difficult time trying to spell some of those names. One was so long that my pen wrote right off the page.lol. But as Mary would say; We Got The Cup. Neener Neener.

Plus Malkin stepped up when Crosby was out and worked off season to get to the level he achieved. I feel he deserved every award he got.
Penguins are going to be scary next year with a healthy Sid and Geno. Can’t wait.

Yes, it was interesting how completely IRRELEVANT anything other than the Stanley Cup, and the Conn Smythe award are. Duh. The first few awards made sense because they were based solely on stats (Kings WON, oh yeah, that’s right … neener!!!! lol), but at least one of the others is pretty questionable.
Doan? Really? That’s leadership? Well he showed his true character during the playoffs. He and this Messier guy, and the entire league, have egg on their faces. Talk about a hollow victory.
Its when the going gets tough that you really learn about a person’s character. Ya know?
We caught the entire league off-guard by winning, of course. I think they know who we are now. Ha!

Hi all. first of all I warned you that it is a boring..ie poorly put together show.. but I do remember be so excited to see it the first time I did some years back.
Fun parts for me of course are watching the players with wives and girlfriends.. seeing how
they act out of uniform :0
I like Heidi and enjoy the way she interacts with people. ( I watched prob half of the red
carpet..which unfortunately is not being shown over that I could see.. Next year make a plan to watch that.. the interviews with the coaches..gms.. players much better then the actual Award Show.
Malkin.. I just ached to see how terribly nervous he was to have to accept his award and give a speech. He did so much better when he was interviewed behind the sceens.. there
is just something intimidating about having to talk in front of hundreds of people when you can see them looking at you. That being said.. it is time for him to really buckle down and
get a solid grip on his English. I think he is on his way, but as you heard he is again another
Mama’s boy… just like Ovechikin.. OMG.. is that what all the Russians are like??
Fro did one time talk about how he revered his Mother..but I think he is way more
Cosmopolitan then the other two.
As for Quickie not gettng the Veznia.. crap! But He got the Cup and the MVP… not a bad year’s work. I do like Hank( my East Coast team). I like his work ethic.. I like the team mate he is, and the person he is..
Brownie just being nominated for the Messier Award is so Cool! I can only think he did not win
as Doan has been around longer… and of course we all know that if the Playoffs had been
included Brownie was a sinch and Doan would not have even been in the running.. I think
he embarrased Messier and the selection Board.
Oh..I really screwed up on trying to get the right info to you all about when the replay would be on of Jimmy Kimmel Live with our Celebraiing.. read that drunkin boys..sorry.. I will see if
on UTube and send to Tracy to pass on. So so cute!!! I have replayed it several times so I could watch each guy individually.. Westie.. dominant leader.. take charge as much as possible.. very alpha.. you see the maturedy of Mitchie/Stollie and Scuds.. although Scuds is more reserved..Carter.. very quiet.. Richards.. his own self..and comfortable with that..
Brownie.. still so shy.. he did not say hardly anything.. but he was watching over the troops to make sure nothing went too crazy.. when Westie said they wanted to give Kimmel a Drink..
Brownie turned around in his seat maybe trying to see from the other guys if it was an ok thing to do.. “rules of the cup” .. he also had Doughts sitting right next to him.. maybe to keep an eye on him?? Doughts was very plastered.. and quiet.. and giggley.. you can see
how young he really is..
People forget when they watch this hardcore game of Hockey most of the players are still just young kids..
Ok I have praddled on enough..
GO KINGS GO!!!
WE WON THE CUP!!!

I did see the Kimmel one and it was so cute. Yeah, DD was plastered, lol, and Quick was too. I didn’t like the Jay Leno one too much, it was ok, but awkward.
Russian boys and their mamas? LOL, that is exactly what it is like in a lot of Europe – better than being a hater,
